IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Andrea Beth
Hopkins
October 13, 1954 – June 21, 2020
Andrea Beth Hopkins, age 65, passed away peacefully in her sleep June 21, 2020, due to heart failure. She was born on October 13, 1954, in Detroit Michigan to Walter and Esther Hopkins. She was never married nor had any children.
Andrea loved to love on people. She loved to sew and loved the casino. She also loved to share her love of food with her lemon sweets and her awesome baked chicken and gravy over rice.
After graduation from Henry Ford High School in June 1973 she was a daycare teacher for a few years and then hired with General Motors in 1976 where she remained and retired after 40 years.
She leaves behind a very loving family that she was very proud of. Andrea was world-renowned for her lack of patience, not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is.
She always told you the truth even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear.
Everyone always knew where they stood with her. She liked you or she didn't.
Her extensive vocabulary was more than highly proficient at knowing more curse words than most people learned in a lifetime. At work Andrea was AKA QUEEN.
Her words of encouragement, wisdom, and comfort, kept us in line, and gave us something to pass down to our children.
Andrea will be surely missed. She loved her family....Brother Walter Hopkins, his children; Niece Ericca Hopkins, Nephews Walter Hopkins Jr & Corey Brown Hopkins, Sister Katina Lane Cook who preceded her in death, her children; Nieces Rhonda Cook a niece that also preceded her in death and Rhonda's children Arthur Cook, Jessica Hooks Kelly Hooks, & Niece Darlene Etchison and her Children Ian, Bilaal, Fred Jr, Brainqa, Katina and Emmanuel, Nephew Jeremiah Andrew Cook Jr (Porkey) who preceded her in death and his daughter Crystal Cook, Brother Chistopher Hopkins Sr his children Yolanda Hopkins(Lonnie), Chistopher Hopkins jr,(Hop) Amir Hopkins, Omar Hopkins, Nyaisha and Kareem Hopkins (the twins), Imari, Fatima, Jamal, Akeem, Brother Alvin Hopkins his Children; Krystal Anderson, Alvin Hopkins Jr & Kelli Hopkins and Sister Kimberly Hopkins her children; Dominique Barret, Gina Butler, Adesuwa Ewerka & Damien Barnes Jr and her favorite cousin Rita Moore.
Andrea loved the best of her Friends, Kathey, Charlsetta, Zandra & Emma
Andrea loved her General Motors Family, Betty, Mary, Angela, Peggy, Vicky, Denise, M.L.D, Dale, Mohamed, Mr. Lee and Tim.
Andrea Hopkins was everyone's favorite.
Andrea's life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32:
Be kind and compassionate to one another forgiving one another just as God also forgave you in Christ
