HOOD, Mr. Clinton Sr. - Age 93, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020 in Georgia. Services were Saturday, November 7, 2020 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Clinton Hood, Sr. was born on October 18, 1927 in Bessemer, Alabama to Isaiah and Maggie (Beverly) Hood. Clinton grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he attended Fort Wayne Public schools. Clinton served honorably in the United States Air Force. He married the love of his life, the late Ella (Harris) Hood and they were married 60 years until her death in 2007. They were affectionately called by everyone "Tootsie and Bootsie". To this union Ten (10) children were born.
Clinton and Ella moved their family to Flint, Michigan in 1965. Clinton was employed by General Motors Truck & Bus until his retirement. After retirement Clinton was able to participate in his favorite hobbies full time, which were studying his bible, fishing, hunting, wood carving, watching sports and western movies on TV.
Clinton Hood was a faithful member of Eliezer Apostolic church and ordained as Deacon by Bishop Raymond Dunlap. After many years of faithful service at his church he moved his membership to Refuge Temple under the leadership of Pastor Seon Thomas and Pastor Matthew Jackson. Deacon Hood was an active, faithful and dedicated Deacon who enjoyed serving the Lord and his church family.
Mr. Clinton Hood, Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Beverly R. Hood of Austell, Ga., 5 Sons: Paul (Mildred) Hood, Clayton D. Hood both of Flint, MI., Ronald (Latrice) Hood of Atlanta, Ga., Todd Hood of Houston, Tx., and John Hood of Flint, MI, 23 Grandchildren, 37 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, Eliezer church family and Refuge Temple church family. Special friends and extended families include Allen, Dunlap, Hudson, Doan, Clemons, Mbiya, Taylor, Bowen, Hawkins, Rawls, Beaugard and the Gist families.
Mr. Hood was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Hood, parents Isaiah and Maggie Hood, (4) sons: Clinton, Lawrence, Roger, Kenneth Hood and (4) grandchildren: Latonya, Ricardo, Dante and Scottie Hood.
