Fannie Ethel Maxwell, born on January 14, 1931, in Franklin, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, dedicated wife, and cherished mother, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Fannie was the daughter of Jacob Carl McGhee and Emma Lou Minniefield, who preceded her in death. She was also the loving wife of Alvin Maxwell, whose life she shared with devotion until his passing. Their bond served as an inspiration to all who knew them.
A devoted mother, Fannie is survived by her daughter Charlotte Gibson and granddaughter Dionne Houston. Fannie took great pride in her family and found joy in nurturing those close to her heart. Her passions included cooking, a love for lifetime movies, and enjoying outings to the local farmers market. She was a frequent attendee at her home church, where she found community and fellowship.
A visitation will take place on March 6, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Greener Pastures Funeral Home, located at 4405 Marietta St, Powder Springs, GA, 30127. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held on March 7, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the same location. Fannie will be laid to rest at Sweetwater Memorial Park in Hiram, GA, with the burial service commencing at 2:00 PM.
Fannie Ethel Maxwell will be remembered for her generous spirit, love for her family, and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a cherished legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift her family and friends.
