Obituary

Larry Shane King, 52, of Kennesaw, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2022. Shane was the second child and only son born to Linda and Lawrence King on March 19, 1969. He attended Crawford County High School and later join the United States Navy. During his tenure in the Navy, he achieved the rank of Sonar Technician Petty Officer third class. After serving his country, he completed his education at the University of Rhode Island where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education.

As a civilian, Shane went on to hold several prominent roles such as Assistant Coach with University of Rhode Island. This allowed him to share his passion for sports on a collegiate level. After deciding to move his family back to Georgia, Shane began working in technology for Synavant Technology and Dendrite. While he enjoyed working in this discipline, sports and physical activities were his true calling and this led him to the role of Manager with Moohan Martial Arts. He also began a fulfilling career of coaching with local youth organizations. At the time of his retirement, Shane, also known as Coach King, had spent many years shaping the future of countless children and young adults.

Shane was a loyal and active member of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He loved serving the Lord and spent his life sharing his faith with family and friends. He loved meeting new people and exploring new experiences with those he loved. Shane was happiest when he was spending time with Shenica, the love of his life, as well as his family.

While Shane dedicated his life to coaching youth, he will always be remembered as a wonderful and loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. If he believed he could be of help to others in need, Shane was always there to lend a hand, provide support and care for those who needed it the most. He leaves behind a family who loves him very dearly and seeks to keep him in their hearts.

Shane is survived by his high school sweetheart, a loving and devoted wife of 32 years Shenica Harvey King. He is also survived by four sons: Marcus (Selam) King, Shane Michael (Diamond) King, Tameron (Charity) King, and Jordan King; and one grandson Rohi King. He also leaves two sisters Kelli (Chris) Branscom, Kathi (Joey) Nippert manny nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends to mourn his passing.

This world is significantly better for having Larry Shane in it. Through his love and compassion, he made his family far, far better and prepared them to walk this path together. We will always
love him and keep him in our hearts.
