Obituary

Lesly L. Pierre, 80, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia. Born on April 10, 1945, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Lesly immigrated to the United States after attending College St. Pierre in Port-au-Prince. He then went on to complete certification at Sears Technical Training Center (Home Entertainment Division), laying the foundation for a long and accomplished professional life.

In 1968, Lesly discovered his true passion in automobile sales where he built a long and successful career marked by excellence and recognition. His talent for auto sales blossomed at Chrysler, grew at PAL Chevrolet and ultimately found a long-term home at Toyota, where he dedicated the remainder of his career . Known for his exceptional work ethic, steady presence, and quiet wisdom, he gained the trust and admiration of colleagues and customers alike . He earned top sales awards consecutively for several years. His success came not only from his knowledge, but from his kindness, honesty and patience that he extended to everyone he met. His Catholic faith also was a constant throughout his life as he worshiped at St. Joseph's Church in Spring Valley, New York and St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet, New York.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Lesly is survived by his wife, Margarett M. Pierre, and their children: Lesly A. Pierre, Gregory Pierre, Daphnee Pierre Jasmin (husband Enri Jasmin), Saran Pierre, and Margarett C. Pierre. He is also survived by many grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy: Lesly A. Pierre Jr., Jacob Pierre, Denèe Watkins, Desirèe Watkins, Erin Jasmin, Ayden Pierre, and Xavier Charles, as well as his great-grandson Royal Berry. He is further survived by his former spouse, Jacqueline S. Lafontant, their granddaughter Gabriella Wright, loving siblings Evelyne Pierre, Carole Pierre Fidèle, Marie Josée Pierre, Pierre Richard Pierre, Margareth Pierre and Patricia Pierre, along with nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and a large extended family who cherished him deeply.

Lesly is preceded in death by his daughter Karen S. Pierre Wright, his parents Louise Menard and Lelio Pierre, and his beloved stepmother Elita Thomas who raised him. He was also preceded in death by brothers Eddy Pierre, Gerald Pierre, Jean-Robert Pierre and sister Nicole Pierre.

Lesly will be remembered as a hardworking, driven, kind, generous, and reliable man. Though naturally quiet, his words carried weight, and those who knew him found comfort in his calm and pleasant spirit. Beyond his professional life, Lesly was known for his role as a party promoter; an extension of his love for Haitian Kompa music and bringing people together. He also enjoyed traveling abroad, coin and stamp collecting, vintage miniature cars, crossword puzzles, and watching his favorite game shows, Jeopardy and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. He also found joy in his role as a Rockland County representative for the Haiti Observateur newspaper which kept him current with Haitian news, politics and culture. He would often sit in the kitchen tuned in to Radio Tropicál where he kept up with further events within the Haitian community. He was also deeply committed to helping others, especially newly arrived Haitian immigrants in Spring Valley, supporting them by explaining and clarifying written documents through the Hasco Community Center — a reflection of his gratitude and desire to give back during his retirement years.
