IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia Ann
Parr
March 15, 1951 – July 29, 2025
Patricia Ann Parr
March 15, 1951, to July 29, 2025
Patricia Ann Parr, affectionately known as "Pat," passed away peacefully on July 29,
2025, surrounded by care and love. Born in Bay City, Texas, to Audrey Bouldin and
Professor Spencer, Patricia lived a life of faith, warmth, and unwavering strength.
She spent many years in Austin, Texas, where she shared a loving life with her
husband, Walter Parr. A devoted woman of God, Patricia served as Mother of the
Church, known for her tireless volunteering, strong spirit, and gift of speaking truth
with grace. She was witty, funny, and unapologetically herself, always ready with wisdom,
warmth, or a laugh. She often said, "Don't take no wooden nickels," a phrase that
perfectly captured her charm and no-nonsense spirit.
Her faith, her fierceness, and her love made lasting impressions on everyone who knew
her. She loved her family deeply and took great pride in them. After the passing of
her brother, his granddaughters, her nieces became "her girls" and she adored them as her
own, offering them wisdom, and unconditional love.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald Spencer. She is
survived by her two children, Charles Spencer of Bay City, Texas, and Tina Dunbar of
Powder Springs, Georgia, with whom she spent her final years and days, her sisters,
Brandi Spencer of Houston, TX, and Cassandra Maxey of Fort Smith, AR; and a host
of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever carry her in
their hearts.
Her favorite scripture was: "The joy of the Lord is our strength"; – Nehemiah 8:10
Patricia was cremated in accordance with her wishes. Her final resting place will be
at Houston National Cemetery, beside her beloved husband.
In honor of her memory, donations may be made to the American Stroke Association.
Patricia Ann Parr lived boldly, laughed freely, and loved deeply. Her legacy lives on
in all who knew and loved her.
Her Celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM
at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 1206 Avenue C Bay City, TX 77414.
To the Parr Family, we at Greener Pastures Funeral Home, extend to you our deepest sympathy & condolences.
Our prayers remain that your abiding faith in God will continue to comfort, to strengthen and sustain you during your time of bereavement.
