Obituary

Rose Elizabeth Testman, 81, of Hartford, CT passed away peacefully with her daughter and granddaughter by her side on April 13, 2026, at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice Center in Austell, GA. Born in St. Petersburg, FL, she was the first born to Charles and Arelia Evans. Her parents relocated to CT after the birth of their second child, and Rose spent the rest of her life there. She attended Weaver High School. In 1971 she immediately started her career at The Board of Education where she worked at Fox Middle School for many years as House-C’s secretary & scheduler and then transferred to Hartford High School, where she worked until retiring in 2003.

She rededicated her life back to Christ at her home church of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Hartford, CT. She loved the Lord and enjoyed her church family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and an aunt to many. She enjoyed her family and spending time with friends. She loved music, the sound of laughter, and having a seafood night with her family and close friends. She was a lover of life and she loved hard.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Rhonda Ferris of Atlanta, GA. She Leaves her beautiful granddaughter, Jasmyne Stringer of Orlando, FL, a beautiful great-granddaughter Klarke Williams and predeceased by her beautiful great-granddaughter Kennedy Williams. She is also predeceased by her parents Charles & Arelia Evans. She has two loving & devoted sisters, Joyce Evans of Hartford, CT., and Renee Robison of S. Carolina. She has a nephew, Chris Evans (Danielle) of Tampa, FL. She also leaves her sister-in-law and best-friend, Winnie Taylor Singleton of CT, a dear friend Juanita Allen of CT, Joann Kendall of CT, and Wayne Goodson of CT. And lastly, she leaves several other family members and close friends who adored her.

A special THANK YOU to the staff/team at Davita Hartford Dialysis in Hartford, CT for your care and support to her over the years. You became her family and for that we Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Thank you to Powder Springs Center for Nursing and Healing in Powder Springs, GA. Your assistance in caring for her has not gone unnoticed. Thank you so much!

Lastly, to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Wellstar Cobb Medical Center in Austell, GA, we appreciate all you did for Rose.

To Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Hartford, CT, we thank you for your love, support and prayers.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at Greener Pastures Funeral Home, 4405 Marietta St, Powder Springs, GA 30127 on May 2, 2026. A viewing at 10am, followed by a celebration of life at 11am. Her interment will be at Sweetwater Memorial Park, 4614 Hiram-Douglasville Hwy – 92, Hiram, GA 30141. A repast will follow for the family and close friends. Live streaming will be available as well for those unable to attend. Greener Pastures Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
