Willie Lee Thompson II, 55, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2026, surrounded by his family in Douglasville, Georgia.

Born and raised in Warren, Ohio, Willie was born to Willie Lee, Sr. and Florence Louise. He was a man whose life was defined by faith, hard work, humility, and unwavering love for his family. Throughout his career, he held a variety of roles that reflected his dedication to serving others and providing for those he loved. He worked for Coca-Cola, served as a Correctional Officer in Ohio, worked in security at the CNN Center in Atlanta, served with the City of Atlanta, and spent many years as a truck driver. No matter the position, Willie approached his work with integrity, commitment, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Willie was also deeply involved in his church community and was an active and faithful member throughout his life. His love for Jesus Christ was evident in the way he lived, treated others, and shared his faith. He believed in serving others and sought to reflect Christ’s love through both his words and actions.Outside of work and church, Willie found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved taking walks in the park, traveling, exploring new places, and trying different restaurants and foods. A devoted football fan, he enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams and sharing those moments with family and friends.Those who knew Willie will remember him as a humble, devoted, and loving man. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend whose quiet strength and steady presence left a lasting impact on everyone around him. He led by example, demonstrating the value of hard work, faith, kindness, and perseverance.

Willie is survived by his loving wife, Shontelle Renee Thompson; his daughters, Chasity Lenae Griffin (Caleb Griffin Sr.) Brianna Nicole Marsh (Alexander Marsh III) and his son, Willie Lee Thompson III; and his beloved grandchildren, Caleb Isaiah Griffin II, Amia Renee Marsh, Adin Alexander Marsh, and Carson Lee Griffin.Willie is also survived by his loving sisters, Arlene Bahar and Kymmberly Dwight (Marlon Dwight), and his beloved first cousin, Mark Thompson, whose bond with Willie was that of a brother. Their special relationship was marked by a lifetime of love, friendship, and unwavering support.

Above all, Willie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and son. His love was shown not through grand gestures, but through his daily sacrifices, unwavering support, and steadfast commitment to his family. He was preceeded by death by his father, Willie Lee Thompson Sr. and his paternal grandparents Jim Sr. and Fannie Thompson and maternal grandparents George and Arlena White.
