Barbara Wilkerson

Barbara Lee Wilkerson was born on June 21, 1928 in Knoxville, TN. On June 5th, just weeks away from her 94th birthday, she went home to meet our lord where her husband was patiently
waiting to embrace her once again. Born Barbara Lee Carson she was the only child of Eula May Carson. Eula Mae was the youngest of three, with brothers Samuel and Forest Carson, she was full of drive and provided the drive gene to generations. Barbara attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. to study education before returning to Knoxville.

On February 8,1951 she exchanged vows and became the loving wife of Brady H. Wilkerson of Dayton, TN who preceded her journey to heaven on September 27, 2000.

Barbara was a devoted member of Glenville Presbyterian Church in Cleveland and possessed a willing smile and open heart for the community we called village. The family owned two dry
cleaners where she assisted when needed as well as time with the local YMCA. After moving to Shaker Hts. OH she eventually found time to work as a teacher’s assistant.

Barbara is also proceeded in death by her first son Darryl Maurice Gross on January 18, 2004. She is survived and leaves to mourn her passing a devoted daughter Teri Lynn Burns (Husband
Greg Burns) Son Brady Kevin Wilkerson, daughter In-law Marilyn Etheridge Gross, grandchildren Theodore, Lauren and Adam. Included is an extensive list of friends that we called family. Her departure represents the very last of a family generation. A great generation. The village generation where she will remain in the hearts of many.

The Memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022, beginning at 11:00 AM inside the Chapel of the Greener Pastures Funeral Home 4405 Marietta Street Powder Springs, GA 30127.
