Corey Lamont Myers

Our beloved Corey Lamont Myers, 45, of Austell, GA, and formerly of Trenton/Ewing, NJ passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Corey was born on May 10, 1977 in Trenton, NJ to Kim M. Myers-Edwards and Pastor Noah R. Williams.

Corey was a long time native/resident of Ewing, NJ prior to relocating to Georgia. Corey graduated in 1995 from Campbell High School in Smyrna, GA, and continued his education in communications at Savannah State University. Corey went on to make hard decisions to return to NJ in 2006 to support his mothers family as his grandfather, Preston Myers, was in his last
days. When Corey returned back to NJ, he was employed with Global Industrial, Robbinsville, NJ. When Corey confirmed residency in Georgia in 2016, he was a proud employee of Keystone (a division of LKQ, Georgia).

While Corey worked, enjoyed friends and family, we all know Corey was a 76ers fan and Eagles fan to the heart…Corey as a little boy was an amazing athlete, and enjoyed and excelled at many sports. Soccer…Basketball…Football… He continued to give back to his community by volunteering as a football coach with the Ewing Jr. Blue Devils, and the Ewing Summer Basketball League. He always gave his knowledge to young people about their form, position, and ability, regardless of where he was in life. Corey also had skills in the music field, where he
had a creative mind to place rhymes on paper and write poems from life experiences past or present or unknown. His emotions good, bad, ugly, or kind would come to life…To know Corey
is to love Corey. He loved making countless memories with his family and friends. He was a true supporter of all.

Corey had many life changes, but in 2014, Corey gave his life to the Lord and was baptized at St. John’s Baptist Church, Ewing, NJ, Pastor Vincent H. Jackson.

Corey is predeceased by his grandparents, Preston and Marie Myers. Corey leaves to mourn, his mother, Kim Myers-Edwards (Paul) of Georgia, father Pastor Noah Williams of New Jersey;
siblings, Kyle Carmichael (NJ), Garjuan Bellamy (PA), Nikeeta Williams (MD), Noah Williams (NJ), and step-sister Talayon Wallace (IN). Corey has also left to mourn his Aunt Michele Myers “Auntie” (NJ); Uncle Preston (Clay) Myers (NJ); cousins, Brittany, Breonna, and Jaidyn Myers (NJ); special friend but more like a brother, Shawnn Edwards; and truly a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Corey was a unique and loving person, who touched many hearts and was loved by many and will be sorely missed and will be continuously etched in life long memories….

The Viewing will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, beginning at 9:00 AM at Greener Pastures Funeral Home, 4405 Marietta Street Powder Springs, GA 30127.

The Funeral Service will take place immediately after the viewing on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11:00 AM inside the chapel of the Greener Pastures Funeral Home, 4405 Marietta Street Powder Springs, GA 30127.
